Family Friendly Wineries & Grapebomb's new 'Napa Card' Giveaway!

Most of us moms appreciate a well-deserved glass of wine and we are so fortunate to live so close to the beautiful wine country. This week my friend Elena McAlpine suggests some great wineries that are family friendly day trips out. She is also sharing some great savings to celebrate the launch of Grapebomb by giving away their new ‘Napa Card’, see details below on how to win one!
It’s easy just pop, pour and breath!

Here’s to You, Mom!

By Elena McAlpine, posted June 8th 2011

At the end of a long day with my 2 year old, usually consisting of six outfit changes (her, not me) and a few temper tantrums (me, not her) I love to relax with a nice, big glass of wine. It’s a ritual that I cherish, opening a bottle of Pinot Noir and sitting down with my husband to relax and talk about our day. It’s a little reward I give myself after my daughter insists on wearing a shower capand nothing else to the grocery store or points at a blemish on my face and asks if she can kiss my boo boo.

I always loved wine and going wine tasting in the Napa Valley. Only 45 minutes away, it makes for a fun and easy day trip. Now that I have a toddler to think about, I decided I had to discover a new ‘family friendly’ wine country and make it affordable for my family to enjoy.

That’s why my husband and I started ‘The Napa Card’. It’s an easy way to save money wine tasting in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Sipping wine with your family gets you out of the house doing what you love (indulging yourself, of course!) while taking your kids out on anadventure. There are plenty of family friendly wineries out there. Here are a few to get you toasting with your tots while saving a buck or two with ‘The Napa Card’.

Cline Cellars – With a tasting room located in an 1850s farmhouse, this winery is a top pick.

Enjoy a picnic on lush green lawns while the kids discover the six spring-fed ponds. Surrounded by over 5,000 rose bushes, dozens of rustling willow trees and ever-changing gardens, this winery calls to be discovered by adults and children alike.

Clif Family Winery – Taste Clif Family’s Climber Red or Kits Killer Cab at their wine tasting shop Vino Velo. Combining the family’s passion for the outdoors with their love of wine, Vino Velo is a wine tasting and bicycle shop all in one. Bring the bikes and have a taste of wine before being your children’s tour guide to the Napa Valley.

Tudal Family Winery – Between the bocce court, the enticing flower and vegetable gardens and the collection of historic farm tractors, tools and bygone novelties, your family will love Tudal Family Winery. They also make a fantastic Cabernet Savignon! Kids can explore the grounds while you sip and relax.

Cheers!
Elena
